What is just as bad as smoking?

Posted by:

Today there is not one person on the planet that does not understand the fact that smoking is a very damaging habit. We understand very clearly the issues caused by smoking, there is no question about it.  As a matter of fact in most countries the message from governments is loud and clear. Do not smoke! Sadly one of the most available and used or should I say abused substances is largely ignored by governments. If you have a look at this recent article you will soon find that really sugar should be put into the same category as it damages your health. Here are just some of the things that we know sugar is responsible for:

  1. Eating sugar can cause various health complications like diabetes, asthma, heart diseases, inflammation and allergies.
  2. Weight gain & obesity
  3. Being lethargic & sleepy
  4. Indigestion, constipation and stomachache
  5. Eating excess sugar can damage the communication among brain cells, thus making your mind dumb, inactive and unconscious of the surroundings.
  6. When your diet is based more on sugary foods, your skin looks more dull and acne, blackheads, dark spots and wrinkles are common occurrence.

Now that is a horrific list of issues that sugar causes, the question is do you think about sugar just like you think about cigarettes?

If you don’t maybe it is time you did.

Maybe it is time the goverments put the same warning on sugary foods as they do on tabacco products?
