My doctor diagnosed me as pre diabetic. I was over weight with high blood pressure and my blood sugar was slowly climbing, also I was suffering from painful knee joints due to my excessive weight. My diet consisted of any thing I liked.

I joined the DHC program looking for a opportunity that would make a difference to my health prospects. The way things were was not an option for me, I NEEDED CHANGE!

The DHC program explained to me what it means to have diabetes and the long term effects it has on our bodies, more importantly WHAT TO DO about it. I was guided through a food and nutrition program. I learn to make the right choices when shopping.

For me, during the program I was steadily loosing weight, so far 18kgs (40 pounds) , my blood pressure returned to normal and blood sugar level dropped to the 4’s and 5’s I am feeling GREAT. Knowing now what I know, making the right choice as to what I eat is much more important to me. My attitude towards life has changed more to the positive. I am now getting out in the garden or a even week-end trip away. Most importantly I feeling fit.
