Making The Documentary

This is a documentary that is being produced without a budget. Many people have donated thier funds and time to allow this project to become reality. Today we live in a world where everything costs money, sometimes big money. Our approach has been to make the Diabetic Health Clinic Lifestyle Progarm free and accessible to everyone.

The New Documentary will have the same story behind it. It is being made no budget or funds, it is being made because we have a goal and we have stepped out and taken a leap of faith. Producing a film without a budget is something that by most people is considered not possibe.

The Diabetic Health Clinic is one again poineering a project which is considered impossible. Watch as this wonderful project comes to life!

Colour Grading Monitor Donation

Colour grading is a very important part of the movie making process. To produce a movie each shot must be colour graded to comply with colour standards. Once the initial colour grading is completed the artistic touch is built into the film. This is where a visual feel for each scene is created. To be able to colour grade a movie the appropriate monitor needs to be used. Jason Sardie who completed the program has donated the monitor for which we are hugely thankful. Below Jason has shared the reason why he donated the monitor.

Thank you again for the Diabetic health Clinic program, it has been eye opening and life changing for me in more ways than one.

Please accept this BenQ monitor as a hugely appreciated Tolkien of my appreciation for your program that has changed my life.

A little back ground information about me. 4 years ago I was at the worst stage of my life. I weighed approximately 270kg (595 pounds) I ate and drank with no temperance or self control at all, I ate what I wanted, when I wanted. Some days I ate and drank as much as 5 times the daily recommended energy amount, 8700KJ X 5 = 43,500KJ, in one day !! As a direct result, I was severely depressed, I had tachycardia, weekly occurrences of gout and other problems with my knees, feet & ankles related to swelling. I had a lot of health problems, lots of aches and pains all over , I was constantly taking high doses of over the counter pain killers to try and make living tolerable. Bad circulation in my legs landed me in hospital 3 times in 3 years with cellulitis, which is a bacterial infection. In hospital I reached my highest temperature of 46 degrees C (114.8 F ) and nearly died once. My family were very very concerned about me. I was not a very well or happy person at all. To comfort myself, I ate and drank…..which always made my matters worse.

The final icing on the cake, was that I was diagnosed as a type 2 Diabetic, at 32 years of age. ALL SELF INFLICTED.

Something severely and desperately had to change.
I was put Into to contact by some past Diabetic health Clinic attendees whom swore about how effective the program is. During this program I have learnt so much information about how our bodies work and what is required in order to keep them (our body’s) operating at their best. During this informative and life changing 12 week experience, I gained so much information about good foods and questionable foods amongst many other things, as well as losing nearly 40kilograms of excess weight. I also reversed my type 2 diabetes, which was causing me many problems.

As a bonus, nearly all my other issues were healing, way faster in 3 months than they ever did in the last 10 years. I had no more gout or tachycardia attacks either.

Most importantly, its been 2.5years since first committing to the program and I have maintained my weight within 5 kgs. WOW !! Thank you for such an amazing and life changing experience. I wish I could have done it years ago.

Camera Donation

The documentary is primarily being shot with a Panasonic HC-X1000 producing cinema quality footage. This camera was donated by Shane for the project. We are very grateful that Shane has provided us with a great piece of equipment to make a high quality production a reality. We are finding that we are achieving some fantastic high quality cinema 4k footage.

Below are some words from Shane.

“As a young child growing up, I remember people dying of infectious disease and starvation. I remember many great singers coming together to raise funds for African aid. Songs such as “Feed the World.” Although there are still these diseases there, what I find incredible is the western world is dying from obesity & chronic disease which  means over consumption.

Having experienced and seen first hand the results from many people who completed the Diabetic Health Clinic (although I’m fit & healthy) I was amazed at the reversal of diabetes, the mass amount of weight people shed and people getting off medication. Also amazing was their doctors being sceptics and seeing the reversal themselves surprised even the doctors.

I believe this documentary will be an eye opener for the masses, as when they realise what they put into their mouths matters, there will be a shift in attitude, as diets simply don’t work. It hopefully will show people that lifestyle change is key.

I donated the camera as I believe it will make a big difference to the world when people understand what they put into their mouths matters. It is only a small part to a big project which hopefully many other like minded people will donate as well to advance humanity and not to profit from peoples misery.”

Editing Hardware Donation

A big issue when editing in cinema quality 4K is pure computing power. Davinci Resolve Studio requires as many threads as possible with the maximum amount of cores, plenty of RAM with a powerful graphics card. Storage has to meet 4K requirements.

During DHC Lifestyle Program Celebration Dinner in Kilcoy from which some scenes will feature in the documentary, we decided to fund raise for a computer so that we have a PC that we can edit on in real time preferably without timeline caching. During the dinner event many of the folks in Kilcoy donated significant sums of money to make the purchase of the editing a reality.

From my perspective the program in Kilcoy was the biggest project to date. Through this program many people have embraced a lifestyle which can only help them achieve their best possible long and short term health outcomes. Given the size of the program we felt that it was a worthwhile project to document on film. The folk in Kilcoy not only made that possible by attending this program and changing their lifestyle but also by contributing to purchasing the editing PC (the picture is the actual PC) and for that I am very grateful as will be the huge number of people which the documentary will inspire to replicate what Kilcoy has done.

I am extremely proud of what Kilcoy has done. Thank you Kilcoy!

Peter Pratt,
Diabetic Health Clinic Founder.

Video Editing, Special Effects & Colour Grading Software Donation

We have selected DaVinci Resolve Studio 15 as the software that is being used to edit, add special effects and also colour grade the documentary. DaVinci Resolve also comes with professional audio software. With this software we can produce a professional film production.

In the first half of 2018 one of our Diabetic Health Clinic presenters conducted our 12 week lifestyle program in Mount Gravatt, Brisbane. The program was very successful and the Mount Gravatt group felt impressed to donate the funds to purchase the full version of DaVinci Resolve Studio. We are very greatful to Ben and the Mount Gravatt group for the wonderful support that they have given this project.

Below are some words from Ben.

The 2018 Mount Gravatt DHC program which ran from March to May was a group of some 30+ people from varying cultures and walks of life who took their lifestyle change opportunity very seriously and with enthusiasm. At our graduation dinner early June all were moved at the changed lives as story after story of formerly ‘unbelievable’ health turnarounds and transformations were told.

Peter Pratt was present giving a taste of the DHC documentary which was underway. The group had been asked if they would like to contribute to the cost of editing software for the documentary and generous donations on the night were made in heartfelt thanks and support of the Diabetic Health Clinic free community programs that change lives. The donations on the night covered the cost of the editing software giving Peter the chance to forge further ahead with this documentary which is being filmed and funded by faith. DHC participants are eager to see Pete’s vision of getting the life-changing program into more communities come true.”

Music Donation - www.kevnolanmusic.com

A few years ago I walked into a new Brisbane appartment complex to have a look and I met Kevin. After speaking with him for a while I discovered that he was a Type 1 Diabetic. After further discusion Kev decicided to complete our Tele-Confrence program.

I bump into many people who ask does the appropriate lifestyle change help a Type 1 diabetic. Whilst Type 1 Diabetes is a very diffrent disease to Type 2 Diabetes Kev’s results speak for themselves. Kev is also a briliant musician who not only sings and plays but also writes his own music and lyrics.

I was thrilled when Kev donated some of his songs from the brand new album “Out of Nowhere” for the new documentary. Below are some words from Kev.

Peter Pratt – Diabetic Health Clinic Founder.

A true breakthrough or revolution often requires the insight of an outsider who is not bound by the chains & shackles of being part of the mainstream.

Our health system is sick, it’s has been poisoned by a mentality of treating the symptom not the cause. I remember hearing a press conference from our Qld Health Minister proudly announcing $5million dollars for bariatric surgery for 300 people. I remember thinking at the time “Imagine what Peter Pratt & the Diabetic Health clinic could do with $5million.

I was diagnosed with diabetes eight years ago when I lived in Spain. In a 3 month period I lost around  20kg. I thought i was dying. My genius doctor, a qualified endocrinologist mis-diagnosed me as a Type 2 Diabetic. So we started on the usual course of Metformin. I walked around like one of the living dead for two years with my body running on fumes. I was actually a late onset Type 1 Diabetic. My pancreas was depleting over time and producing less and less insulin, a completely different disease to Type 2, where your cells become resistant to insulin.

When I moved back to Australia I started seeing an endocrinologist who knows his stuff, Grant diagnosed me as a late onset Type 1 Diabetic and put me on insulin, my muscle bulk & strength returned, but I was still tired all the time. The reason was my diet & my sugar addiction.

A chance meeting at work one day brought Peter Pratt & the Diabetic Heath Clinic into my life.

Peter explained that his course was designed for Type 2 Diabetics, but that it had helped Type 1’s also. I’m always up for trying something new, so I took the leap of faith.

The Diabetic Heath Clinic course left an indelible impression on me, it made me look at food in a whole new light. There was a period while I was juicing that I was able to stop my Insulin for about ten days. A caveat here (remember that my Type 1 is progressive, so I still produce some natural insulin) this is not a cure for Type 1. The point is that we all need to reframe the way we look at food.

My day starts the same every day now, juice consisting of carrot, celery, ginger, lemon & apple, I just love it & it balances my blood sugar & off I go. My wife Maria prepares so many of the recipes from Diabetic Heath Clinic recipe list.

I often wonder why our “Health Department” can’t see the truth & implement it.

I have chosen to donate my songs to the new documentary because the truth must & will be delivered!

Kev Nolan.
