Time Magazine just published a very interesting article on the massive problem facing India. Type 2 diabetes is out of control.

On one hand there is malnutritions and on the other hand residents in wealthier areas over the last few decades have seen massive increases in the prevalence of type 2 diabetes.

It is very clear that as incomes increase and the availability of western take away foods increase so does the incidence of diabetes.

In india the consumption of white refined rice is also attributed to the development diabetes.

Today poor areas where diabetes was at 0% now have a diabetes rate of 10%.

Patients now are also getting younger. 12% of girls between the ages of 12 and 19 are now showing clear traits of the disease.

Diabetes is a worldwide problem. The one common factor is the consumption of refined foods
