Around 26 million people including children in the USA have diabetes. Around 79 million Americans have the condition of pre-diabetes. All of the people with pre-diabetes are at grave risk of developing the disease. It is widely accepted that one in three of US citizens will develop diabetes by 2050.

People who are obese, older or have a family history of diabetes, are at risk of developing the condition. Diabetes often leads to stroke, heart disease, foot and leg amputations, kidney failure and blindness.

In 2012, the cost of diabetes was a huge $245 billion in just five year yet five years earlier it was just 174 billion. This equates to a massive increase 43% increase in the cost of treating the disease. The increase is due to what is now known as the diabetes epidemic.

The number of people with pre-diabetes is almost hard to imagine.

A return to an as grown, whole foods as grown diet has been shown to normalise blood sugar levels and in many cases reverse the condition. The question for many people is whether a change of this magnitude is possible? With the appropriate guidance and a program where people learn to reject processed foods is paramount for anyone who would like to normalise their sugar levels.

A program that should be considered is the Diabetic Health Clinic Lifestyle Program.
